I couldn’t stand the new Twitter app for iPad, so I went on the hunt for a replacement. Hootsuite does way more than I need. The free version of Echofon seemed fine until I realized its updates were six hours behind. The free version of Twitterific also seemed fine until I realized you have to pay for multiple accounts.
Finally, I realized the only way I was going to get a half-decent Twitter app was by coughing up $2.99 for Tweetbot. What a treat. It’s beautiful, it takes advantage of the touch interface in nice ways, it has all the functions you would expect of a Twitter app, and it’s dead simple to use.
If you’re disappointed with the new Twitter app, then do yourself a favour and switch to Tweetbot.
