Mathew Ingram at GigaOm tries to come to terms with what constitutes journalism in an age where bloggers are blurring the lines:
I think we have to resist the temptation to restrict our definition of journalism, just because there is some bad journalism out there (something there was plenty of before the internet and blogging came along).
These questions could apply to many fields. If you draw a picture, are you an artist? If you perform CPR on an injured person, are you a doctor? To qualify as an artist, a doctor or a journalist, you need at least two things: one, it should be your primary occupation, and two, you should be recognized as such by your peers.
