Glad to have a gluten-free demo
A story about a gluten-free cooking demonstration on the weekend is one of the best-read articles over at The Daily News website. I was surprised, but I shouldn’t have been — one in 22 people have celiac disease.
Those who have it can’t eat a number of foods that most people take for granted. A gluten-free diet excludes, for example, any food that contains flours or grains of wheat, rye, barley and oats.
Just think of all the things that affects — breakfast cereals, lunch sandwiches, birthday cakes, a beer after work. It’s no wonder that tips on gluten-free cooking are popular.
